The Mortal Instruments | Cassandra Clare

The element of TMI that I liked the least was our MC, Clary. Even Jace who occasionally had a POV was a character I didn’t care for. On the other hand, if the Lightwood siblings were my favorite characters. While they still got a decent amount of storyline, I would have much prefered Izzy and Alec to be the MCs.

Ninth House | Leigh Bardugo

Part of why I didn’t really like Ninth House was because I didn’t care for our main character, Alex Stern. But do you know who would make a good MC? Darlington. He’s the only reason I want to read book two!

Harry Potter | J. K. Rowling

While I love the HP books, everyone can agree that Harry wasn’t probably the best protagonist out there. That said, I can’t think of anyone from the books I’d rather replace him!

Renegades | Marissa Meyer

In Renegades, I really liked our first POV, Nova, but I didn’t love the second POV, Adrian. He was just too good all the time. I see why his POV is important to the story, but I thin kI would have liked the book more if Nova was the only main character.

The Lost Hero | Rick Riordan

I know, I know. How could there ever be anything wrong with an Uncle Rick character? But I think you can guess who it is–Jason. The most vanilla Uncle Rick character ever. I would have liked a different character in his stead. Any character. But if we could take out the Jason chapters and replace them with Leo chapters, that would be even better!
