Happy May! It’s come so fast, but I’m very excited for the warmer weather. I decided to mood read a little last month (It’s Shadow and Bone‘s fault. I just had to reread Six of Crows.) and that left me with a lot of ARCs unread. There’s no way I’ll be able to read all eighteen books, but I’ll put them all here because I’m not sure yet which ones I won’t read.
Classic of the Month
Lord of Flies | William Golding

I’ve started this one already and–wow. It’s a lot. And just consider that it came out in the 50s. There’d never been a book like this! Honestly, I’m loving it.

Dustborn is one of those ARCs I requested forever ago with barely a thought. I’m a little nervous for it, but you never know what might surprise you!

This sounds like a fun contemporary! It sounds pretty unmemorable, but I think I’ll enjoy it!

I can’t believe I got approved for this! I went out and bought Silvia Moreno-Garcia’s novel Mexican Gothic, and when I got home I found an approved NetGalley request for this novel! The synopsis doesn’t really tell me anything about it, but it’s Silvia Moreno-Garcia and that’s all I need to know.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about Akemi Dawn Bowman, and this sci-fi book sounds amazing! I’ve heard a lot of hype and I’m very excited!
Malice | Heather Walter

I’ve heard a lot of excitement for Malice, but I’m a little nervous. I do like a good retelling, but I’m a little scared for a juvenile writing style, which is just the nail in the coffin for me.

I read The Downstairs Girl last month and enjoyed it! I’m excited to read Stacey Lee’s newest book! I’m always up for a good historical fiction.

This was another of those ARCs I requested on autopilot in December (I know I’m an idiot), but it doesn’t look too bad. A little generic, but still fun!

This one has a pretty low rating on Goodreads, but it sounds pretty good to me! Again, I love historical fiction and an “irreverent regency romp” sounds like so much fun!

Okay, all the contemporaries here were December-requests. This one doesn’t look to bad, but I have a feeling it’ll end up being meh.

I might not be the biggest fan of the Shadow and Bone trilogy, but the best part of it was undoubtedly Nikolai. Did you guys notice they changed the title of the duology from the Nikolai Duology to the King of Scars Duology? I’m a little sad about that, but I can’t wait to reread this in anticipation for Rule of Wolves.

I have barely been able to wait to read this book since it came out! Mostly for two reasons 1) Nikolai 2) confirmed Crow cameos!
