I’ve never seriously bought into the whole zodiac sign thing as true (because mine could not be more different from my real personality), but they are a fun thing to look at. Now you may be thinking–what do zodiac signs have to do with books? That’s…a very good question. For this series, I want to do a post for each sign about books that are like each of them. At least, this will hopefully be a series. Please tell me if you enjoy it, or if not, what I can change to make it more interesting!
Going in order of the dates they span, Aquarius is first. Here’s a little bit of information about the Aquarius sign, as according to Astrology Zodiac Horoscope.
Element: Air
Quality: Fixed
Color: Light-Blue, Silver
Day: Saturday
Ruler: Uranus, Saturn
Greatest Overall Compatibility: Leo, Sagittarius
Lucky Numbers: 4, 7, 11, 22, 29
Date range: January 20 – February 18
Strengths: Progressive, original, independent, humanitarian
Weaknesses: Runs from emotional expression, temperamental, uncompromising, aloof
Aquarius likes: Fun with friends, helping others, fighting for causes, intellectual conversation, a good listener
Aquarius dislikes: Limitations, broken promises, being lonely, dull or boring situations, people who disagree with them
I am by no means an expert, but what it sounds like to me is that the book would be:
- Fast-paced
- Exciting
- Light-hearted
- Plot-heavy (for the intellectual side of things)
I’m pretty excited about this, so let’s see how it goes!
Tweet Cute | Emma Lord
Tweet Cute is one of the few contemporary books that I’ve actually enjoyed! I don’t know if it’s plot-heavy, but it definitely is light-hearted and fast-paced.
Cinder | Marissa Meyer
Cinder is one of my personal favorites. It is exciting, fast-paced, and plot-heavy, though the lightheartedness comes in spurts. It isn’t as dark or heavy as some of the fantasy books I read and treads the line between gripping and cheerful.
Crazy Rich Asians | Kevin Kwan
Crazy Rich Asians leans toward the intellectual and plot-heavy side of things. It takes place among the ultra-rich, which means there is lots of politics and intrigue. It is also occasionally light-hearted and nearly always exciting.
Beach Read | Emily Henry
Beach Read was an unexpected favorite of mine. It’s a cutesy contemporary story while still being fast-paced and exciting because of other little tidbits thrown in (I won’t spoil!!).
What did you think? Should I continue with this series?
Ooh I would love to see more of these! I too don’t really believe in star signs because the personality traits associated with my sign are completely different to how I actually act, but I am really curious what books match Libra 😄
